Beginning the Sunday after Labor Day and continuing through the beginning of June, Faith offers Sunday Morning Education for people of all ages. Our Education hour runs from 10 to 10:45 am.
While the above description covers a typical Sunday morning, we also have several special educational opportunities we are pleased to provide for our children and youth.
During the weeks leading up to Easter, a season in the church called Lent, many of our children (traditionally our 1st graders) gather with the Pastor to learn about communion. The class:
looks at communions root in the Old and New Testaments,
the students bake the bread we use on Sunday Morning,
and the class ends with a special Communion Celebration Sunday
On the Sunday before Christmas, our children and youth bring the Christmas message to life through their annual Christmas Pageant. We hope all of our children and youth will participate. Practices for the program fall on the three/four Wednesday nights before.
Faith offers confirmation instruction for students in 7th-8th grades. Confirmation is a period of formation where the student takes ownership of their faith. Following confirmation our youth are recognized as adult members of the church. During our 2-year confirmation program the youth gather on Sunday nights throughout the year to learn about the Old Testament, New Testament, and Martin Luther’s Small Catechism.
