Faith Lutheran Church traces its roots back to three congregations founded in the late 1800s in Gardner by three different ethnic groups from Scandinavia.
1884, First Lutheran Church is founded by people of Swedish heritage
1893, Bethel Lutheran Church is founded by people of Finnish heritage
1894, Immanuel Lutheran Church is founded by Swedes from Finland.
1974, Bethel and Immanuel merge to form Covenant Lutheran Church.
1982, Covenant purchases and renovates a former bar, called the “Bo-Rich Lounge,” on Green Street to become its new sanctuary (our current site), after selling both buildings (Bethel and Immanuel).
1986, Covenant burns its mortgage.
2006, Covenant and First consolidate to form Faith Lutheran Church.
